Nutrition Guidelines
Breakfast: Will meet the USDA Guidelines for Nutrition Standards in the School Breakfast Program.
Lunch: Will meet the USDA Guidelines for Nutrition Standards in the School Lunch Program.
Lunch: Will meet the USDA Guidelines for Nutrition Standards in the School Lunch Program.
"All Foods Sold In School Standards"
- Be "whole grain-rich"
- Have first ingredient a fruit, vegetable, dairy product, or a protein food
- Be a combination of food that contains at least a one fourth cup of fruit/vegetable
School should sell
- Plain water
- Unflavored low fat milk
- 100% vegetable/fruit juice
*No more than 12-ounce portions of:
Beverages with ≤ 40 calories per 8 fluid ounces, or ≤ 60 calories per 12 fluid ounces.
Fundraisers/Snack Carts
- Fundraisers selling food items must meet the nutrition standards if sold for consumption during the school day (midnight to thirty minutes after school dismisses), and must not be sold during the duration of breakfast and lunch service.
- The nutrition standards do not apply during non-school hours, on weekends, or at off-campus fundraising events.
- School Stores or Snack Carts, selling food items, must meet the nutrition standards if sold during the school day (midnight to thirty minutes after school dismisses), and must not be sold during the duration of breakfast and lunch service.
