Reminder: Picture Day is Thursday, March 5th
8th Grade Orientation at MRHS
Just a reminder to the 8th grade families that the 8th Grade Orientation will take place at Minnechaug Regional High School on Thursday, March 19th. The Department Fair will begin at 6:30 p.m. and the presentation will begin at 7:15 p.m. in the auditorium. Principal Hale will also be sending along parent communication regarding this event.

Grinspoon Award Winner, Ms. Jennifer Caine!
Congratulations Ms. Caine
Our beloved preschool teacher, Ms. Jennifer Caine, is a recent recipient of the Pioneer Valley Excellence in Teaching Award. This is a tremendous honor in education. Recipients are honored at an awards banquet at the Log Cabin in May. Her dedication to our students goes above and beyond and it is so nice to see her recognized. MCAS Testing Dates
MCAS testing is right around the corner. Please make sure your kiddos remember the "important things tests can't measure" and give them lots of positive reminders including 1) they are pretty good test takers already, 2) teachers have prepared them and 3) we only expect that they work hard and try their best. The MCAS testing dates for grades 3-8 are attached in a PDF at the bottom of this newsletter.

Standards-based Report Cards will go home Thursday, March 12th with students in grades 1-5. Please see the link below to the district’s website with more information for parents.
School Dance: Save the Date-Friday, April 17th
Our PTO is in the beginning stages of planning our next school dance. The theme this year is a Luau. We are looking for parent volunteers who can help with the planning. If you are interested, we would love to have your help. Please email
Scholastic Book Fair
The annual Scholastic Book Fair will take place on March 17th- 19th. Scholastic Fliers will go home in the Wednesday envelopes. If you would like to help out, please use the Sign-up link below.
Author’s Visit
On Friday, March 6th, students in grades 1-5 will have the opportunity to meet an award- winning author and science poet, Leslie Bulion. Thank you to the Hampden Cultural Council and the Hampden PTO for funding this special event.
Homework Club Session 3
Permission slips for the third session of Homework Cub will go home in the Wednesday envelopes. The program runs on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays for students in grades 2-8. Session Three: March 10th-April 16th.
