Ancient History Seminar Days

Prepare for the HSC with the assistance of JSC staff

Two Seminars

There will be two days of seminars conducted, the details are listed below.


Both days will begin at 9:30 AM and will conclude by 1 PM. We will meet at the main gate near the front office.


Monday 22nd September:


Cities of Vesuvius


Lecture: An overview of Pompeii and Herculaneum

Workshop: Excavation and Conservation


Friday 26th September


The Greek World and The Spartan Ethos


Students can select a workshop to participate in. Each workshop will revise areas of content critical to a deep understanding of the topic and will involve the guided completion of HSC style questions and peer marking using BOSTES marking guidelines.

Where do I park?


Parking will be available on Janet Street, the student carpark will not be available


What do I need to bring?


Your HSC Ancient History notes, pens, spare paper and your DER laptop


Will food be available?


Small amount of lollies will be provided in workshops, it is suggested you bring a bottle of water and snacks.
