Inglewood Primary School

NEWSLETTER No 05 - 7 March 2019

Our Mission:

Learning to think, to do, to be

Ako ki te whakaaro, ako ki te mahi, ako kia ora ai te mauri

Our Vision: To provide a teaching and learning environment where of those involved: demonstrate respect, expect the best, achieve through opportunity, communicate actively & feel good and safe

Over the last 2 weeks, we have held our REACH rep interviews. We have been impressed by the willingness of many students to put themselves forward for leadership positions and prepare for the interview process. The students whose interviews I sat in on were able to speak about our REACH values, talk about the qualities and skills they can bring, but also importantly gave feedback on things that could improve. The insight of 8,9,10, 11, 12 and 13 year olds are at times a little different to our own, but as we found out this week no less important. The waiting will be over for these students soon, as the last piece of the selection process is completed. Well done to everyone who gave it a go.

Have a fantastic long weekend everyone, we look forward to reconnecting with our wonderful students Tuesday.

Upcoming Teacher Only Day

On tomorrow Friday March 8, our staff will be involved in Professional Development with all other staff from our Kahui Ako Community of Learning schools. This is an opportunity for staff to collaborate with other teachers and build on our understanding and implementation of the new Digital Technology curriculum and Cultural Proactiveness learning. We value this opportunity and appreciate your continued support as parents around this yearly Professional Development day.
