AMCMS Principal's Office
What is going on in the Principal's Office?
My Challenge to You
Take a moment and watch the video above. It is a simple video that makes a big statement. "What's obvious to you is amazing to others." Think about that for a minute.
Many people sit in awe of others when they see them do something that is so "effortless" or "just comes easy to them". What you do not see is the behind the scenes work that it took to get to that moment of amazingness.
Creativity, talent, skills, etc. all have to be developed over time. Gifted athletes must practice, artists repeat their works of art many times with each version different than the previous, writers are never really finished writing they just have to stop and publish their work... All of these are examples of how the amazingness does not just happen. If you speak with the people they will most likely tell you that they are just doing what they do every day.
The real question is what is your amazingness that you do on a daily basis that you do not share with others? You may not even know because it is just part of what you do. Be willing to share and collaborate with others, you just never know what you may do that is a source of inspiration for someone else!
Think. Achieve. Succeed.

Tech Tip of the Week
Academic Tip of the Week
Are you finding that you are having negative interactions with specific students frequently? Did you know that continual negative interactions with students will cause difficulties in your teacher / student relationship? When the pattern of negative interaction repeats itself frequently the student is less likely to engage academically in your classroom.
Try This:
When you notice that you are having negative interactions you will need to take action. Work to have positive to negative interactions be 3:1 (e.g. for every negative, give three positive statements to the student). The positive interactions can be a simple as a handshake, fist bump, words of encouragement, a "happy to see you", thank you for your effort, etc. When you focus on the positives the negative interactions will begin to lessen and eventually disappear.
