CHS CHEER Perform at Nationals

For the first time in our school's history, our Varsity Cheer Team was able to compete at the National Level. Coach Linda Collins, along with some amazing volunteers took our team of 16 girls to Anaheim, California to compete against thousands of schools from around the country. The girls competed in advanced medium show cheer and all girl stunt (pictured right). The girls performed stupendously placing 6th and 14th. They represented our school with poise and dignity and only missed advancing by .1%. Thank you to their tremendous Booster Club for giving these girls this opportunity. Our varsity squad members are: Captain, SR. Grace Hannum, SR. Brileigh Allen, SR. Haylee Dawson, SO. Terri Goldman, SO. Madelynn Hallihan, SO. Sarah Hargis, FR. Olivia Logsdon, SO. Jayci Martz, SR. Brooklyn McClendon, FR. Chloe Morris, FR. Naomi Oakes, JR. Kaitlyn Pena, FR. Devin Reed, FR. Abi Simmons, JR. Nia Spencer, and SO. Darian Vigneux

This year's FFA club has the most amount of people showing in the history of the program

"As the FFA members prepare to show off their hard work there are many steps they have to take before they even make it to the fairgrounds."

COUNSELORS CORNER

Third quarter is winding down as we head into the last week before Spring Break. Students need to get any missing assignments turned in by their teacher's deadlines.

We have a busy fourth quarter coming up and it's been exciting to see how many students are signing up to take the Advanced Placement exams and the SAT. For those students who will be taking the SAT with us on Saturday, March 9, be sure to come on time, well rested, have a good breakfast, and bring your calculator. If you missed the deadline for the March 9 test, remember we are testing again on May 4, here on campus...you can register by going to www.collegeboard.org to sign up.

The College and Career fair is coming on March 19, and it's going to be an event to remember, so mark your calendars! Students taking the ACCUPLACER on March 21 need to apply to CAC by Monday, March 4. This ensures the test is free....remember, just because you apply there doesn't mean you have to go there. Also, Seniors will be taking the ASVAB on March 26, watch your mail for more information.

Parent University has been combined with our College and Career Night. Grand Canyon University will be on campus and presenting information for students and adults interested in furthering their education.

Finally, EVIT will return to campus on March 26 to pick up any remaining applications. If your student signed up for EVIT and hasn't turned in an application yet, they need to have it completed by then. Blank applications can be picked up in the Counseling office, room 538.
