Shout Outs
- Reading interventionists recent speed dating (RtI progress monitoring conversations). This team met with teachers to discuss students and develop instructional plans to support growth for readers.
- T. Sadler and the Fox Cubs News Crew. This past week we launched FCNC. Our morning program is informative, entertaining, and inspirational to our student body. Thx Mrs. Sadler.
- H. Reit, K. Tisdale, and M. Ridgeway for hosting Bee Week. Each class that attended the media center were engaged in discussions learning more about the function and purpose of honeybees and their positive impact on our ecosystems.
- Parent volunteers who assisted with both our Green Apple Day of Service and Fox Fun Friday on September 29th. We are grateful for their time and support.

DFES Literacy Night 2017
DFES literacy night 2017 will be designated for 4K - 3rd grade parents. Our goal is to build capacity for parents to help their children grow as readers but also supports our school wide efforts for Read 2 Succeed requirements.
On that night 4K-1 parents will be int the mini theater from 6:00 - 6:30 as S. Somerall will led discussions. They will transition and be invited to visit the book fair from 6:35 - 7:05 in the media center.
2nd and 3rd grade parents will will spend 6:00 - 6:30 in the book fair and 6:35-7:05 in the mini theater for S. Somerall's presentation.
Robin Cox has agreed to host a session for 4th and 5th grade parents on this night. No preparations necessary for homeroom teachers on this night.
Sally will discuss her presentation with grade levels during Thursday's (October 5th) curricular conversations and we will update 4th and 5th grade teachers on Robin's presentation.
