Philanthropy Club

On Wednesday, June 1st, the Philanthropy Club traveled to the Sebastian Riding Associates in Evansburg State Park. Sebastian has been offering equine assisted therapy programs for children and adults living with a variety of physical, mental health and intellectual disabilities. Arcola students had created a large sensory garden several years ago, and this year’s students visited to revitalize the area. Students weeded, edged, mulched and replanted flowers and herbs. Students also repainted items that are staked along the trail.

The Pennsylvania WoodMobile

The Pennsylvania WoodMobile was at Arcola from June 1 – June 3rd for our 7th grade students to experience. The PA Department of Agriculture describes the experience, “The Pennsylvania WoodMobile is a traveling exhibit that provides an interactive experience educating visitors about our forest, the sustainable forest products industry, how products are made, and threats to our forests like invasive insects and plants, diseases and white-tailed deer.”

The Counselors' Corner

As the school year winds down, we would like parents/guardians to know what a pleasure it has been working with their students this year. If you have any questions or concerns over the summer, we do have limited office hours (generally one day a week) and will respond to emails and voicemails when we are in the office. Next year, Ms. Berardelli (sberardelli@methacton.org or ext. 30203) will be the school counselor for 7th Grade and Mr. Mueller (mmueller@methacton.org or ext. 30220) will be moving up to 8th Grade.
