Schools will engage in STEM activities. The STEM department put together activities for each grade level to participate in. Here is how you can be a part of STEM day

1. Distribute the grade level activity information below to teachers in time to gather materials and prepare.
2. On May 3rd, provide time for classes to execute the grade level activities below. If you are unable to do the activities on May 3, they can be completed at any time, but it is fun to have a dedicated STEM Day for students to look forward to.
3. Share your GA STEM Day experience on our Flipgrid https://flipgrid.com/230fe978 and/ ( students, teachers or both)

When: June 7, 2019

Where: Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference Center (includes breakfast, lunch, and snacks all day)

Time: 8:30-3:30

This event will focus on our four Vanguard pillars: Transform, Innovate, Mentor, and Support. The day's agenda includes a special keynote speaker and various choice concurrent sessions.

There will also be sessions tailored for new members and current and aspiring leaders. You will compensated $100 for your attendance.

Registration will be opened up to other FCS educators after that.

School Lead Applications for the 2019-20 school year are open!

Responsibilities include:

• Serve as bridge between Vanguard leadership and your school team.

• Attending monthly school lead calls (Thursday evenings before Twitter chats).

• Holding monthly school Vanguard Team meetings, where you share information from your school lead call.

• Participate in the work of one of our committees (events, communication, XP, new members, and possibly others).

• A time commitment above and beyond your normal school duties and Vanguard responsibilities.

This is an excellent opportunity to grow in your role as a Vanguardian and contribute more to the team's mission and vision. We will be looking to this group of individuals first when we have any openings on the leadership team.

The application window will close on Friday, May 10th. This application is open to all Vanguard members in good standing, i.e. you will meet the XP requirements by the due date in May.
