CDS - First Program
The Weekly Word from CDS FP, Mar 30–Apr 3, 2020
Hello First Program Community,
The way our FP faculty has responded to distance learning tells me so much about their passion for education and teaching children. I’m proud of FP teachers.
Thank you parents for all that you do to support your children with regard to their social and emotional needs. Finding a balance between those needs and their academics is key.
Please find here or below the link to the Parent Survey. We ask that for every child you have in FP, please fill out the survey once. Your answers and suggestions are valuable in shaping how we meet students’ needs.
Teachers continue to work hard and e-learning evolves each week. Please watch Ms. Stant’s videos that will showcase teachers throughout FP, their daily process, and how they connect with students.
This Wednesday (and every two weeks), we are offering parents the ability to come to campus to pick up materials from teachers for the students. Request forms for library books are shared with students and parents through SeeSaw from Ms. Choo.
Details are shared below.
If you have any questions about the content for each child, please view SeeSaw or contact individual teachers.
This Thursday and Friday, there is an online Mathletes event for those who signed up with Ms. Kim (Teaching & Learning Coordinator).
This Friday, student birthdays from March and April will be acknowledged with homeroom teachers.
Please note that Parent Teacher Conferences for FP will take place on May 1. Details will be shared regarding sign-up, etc. in the next newsletter.
Please view some pictures below of what e-learning has looked like around FP this past week. We look forward to seeing you digitally throughout the week!
Educationally Yours,
Mr. Hill
Director of First Program

Cheongna Dalton School, Gyeongseo-dong, Seo-gu, Incheon, South Korea
Hello Cheongna Dalton School!
We are excited to announce that our school will be participating in a whole school (First Program, Middle School, and High School) unity project. Students from Pre-K all the way to Grade 12, teachers, staff and parents, will be invited to participate in this exciting Lip Sync Video! Our faculty have brainstormed various song choices and have chosen the upbeat and positive song, "Don't Worry, Be Happy," by Bobby McFerrin. We are asking for participants to: lip sing to all or part of the song, dance to part of the song, play a pretend instrument (i.e. an air guitar or air drum set), wave to the camera, or even smile to the camera for a few seconds. Any idea is a great idea!
FP students will be creating their videos in Mr. Fejes' Music class this week on Seesaw. Middle and High School students will be creating their videos this week and submitting them to their House teacher by Friday.
Parents can submit their videos directly to our Drama teacher, Ms. Desiree Stant, at: dstant@daltonschool.kr by Friday April 17th.
We have included a link to the Roll Out Video that some of our on-campus FP students made for the whole school.
We have also included a link to the original music video for your review.

We hope you are as excited as we are to participate in this uplifting and fun unity project at CDS!
Kindest Regards,
Ms. Stant
