Tinea pedis
Background
- Tinea pedis is a fungus that causes ringworm, athlete's foot, and jockitch.
- It is found in warm, moist locations. It is transmitted by direct contact, sharing shoes, sharing showers, etc.
- A red itchy rash in the spaces between the toes (often between the 4th and 5th toes initially) and possibly small pustules.
- Athletes and younger people are at more risk.
