MVCA Social Studies Department Visits Holocaust Memorial
On April 13th the Michigan Virtual Charter Academy Social Studies Department took a field trip to the Holocaust Memorial in Farmington Hills, MI with over 130 guests (students and family members). They enjoyed a personal tour with docents, which lasted just over an hour, through the museum. The visit ended with a Holocaust Survivor (Mr. Gerry Manko) sharing his experience and struggles with the entire group. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity, and every person in the room was emotionally touched by his story and words of wisdom. It was such a great success, and they hope to make it an annual event open to all MVCA families.
