Message from Brenda
Dear Parents, Caregivers and Students
Can you believe we are in the penultimate week of the year? What an excellent year it’s been too. This week you will be receiving the GS Yearbook you ordered. This book captures a glimpse of the learning and activities that have taken place this year. Thanks to the Yearbook Team, lead by Helena Harrison, for this year’s great edition.
Teacher Leavers
Gay Thompson
Gay Thompson will complete her incredible tenure of nearly 28 years with Glenealy School at the end of this term. Gay has always been an advocate for getting all students engaged and interested in exercise, sport and healthy living. She is a passionate sports enthusiast and gets great pleasure in watching students find pleasure and success in this too.
Gay has organised our camping programme for Year 3-6, ensuring programmes are challenging and age appropriate. Many students highlight camps and PE as their most favourite experiences at school.
Gay has dedicated hours of her own time training and coaching sports teams. She is well known as the netball guru in ESF and over the years has contributed so much to ESF sport through the organisation of tournaments, engaging all international schools in friendly competition. The GS netball team is renowned for their great play and over the years that Gay has coached, they have been regularly in the finals, often taking home the overall trophy.
Gay is moving back to the UK to be with her family and to start a new phase of her life in her home country. We wish Gay all the best and thank her for the outstanding service to Glenealy and ESF. Please look out for Gay’s tribute in the School Yearbook.
Erika Dubinsky
Erika has worked in our Individual Needs Department for the last 3 years. During this time she has worked closely with staff, helping them personalise learning for students so that every child can be the best that they can be.
Erika has developed meaningful relationships with students and has been an advocate for them in the school alongside their Classroom Teacher and Educational Assistant. Erika has also formed positive and professional relationships with parents. Erika has a myriad of ideas and strategies that she has taught students and staff and Glenealy has been so lucky to have Erika share this knowledge with us. Students enjoy working with Erika in small groups and find her approach to learning both fun and useful.
We wish Erika and her family all the very best as they leave Hong Kong on their new adventure.
