Where Am I?

It is very helpful for students to identify where they are in the academic process as they face difficulties.

The above poster is an excellent tool to help students identify where they see themselves at the present and to express where they wish to be.

When your student is struggling, have them point to which step they are on at the moment. Then have them point to where they wish to be. Next, discuss together how to get from where they are to where they wish to be.

Often, the difference from one step to another is their attitude. For sure, every step is conquered with effort and consistency. When a student is positive and does the work with their best effort they will find themselves going up the steps of success.

What Academic Treasures Does February Hold?

February always brings Valentines and Ground Hogs to our minds, but February is also the month of Robinson Crusoe, bottle caps, Freedom Day, Elmo, Hershey Chocolate, umbrellas, toothpicks and polar bears just to name a few.

Check out this monthly calendar so you will not miss an opportunity to celebrate all things February: https://www.theteacherscorner.net/calendars/february.php?printable=1. Remember to click on things on the calendar that are in blue for help learning about some things we celebrate in February.
