March 1, 2018
Hello Holland Elementary Families,
Thanks to the PTO and all of the families and staff members who made Tricky Tray so successful last weekend. The event would not have been possible without the many donations and purchase of tickets. The activity seemed to define how we are as a school community that has supportive families and staff members coming together with the help of the PTO to provide a more enriched school experience for children. Extra special thanks go out to Katey Kelly and Deb Salamon for the time and dedication that they put into organizing the event which raised over $7.500 for our students!

HES Science Fair
Holland’s 7th Annual Science Fair will be held on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 from 6:00-7:30 pm. All students in K-6 are encouraged to participate. Researching scientific ideas and using the scientific method are powerful learning experiences!
Children should start thinking about what their entry could be! Projects can be an experiment, a demonstration, a scientific collection, or information on a scientific topic. Students can work individually or in a small group.
Students may begin picking up their tri-fold boards in the office.
Friday, March 23rd is the FINAL day to register for the Science Fair.

Operation Helping Hand
It is a sad fact that 16% of children in Bucks County are considered food insecure, negatively impacting their development and learning. Operation Helping Hand is a way to combat that and a powerful learning opportunity for students.
United Way of Bucks County (UW Bucks), Bucks County Opportunity Council (BCOC), and Inspire Federal Credit Union are teaming up for Operation Helping Hand (OHH) 2018, with the goal of collecting 67,000 lbs of food for your local food pantries.
Holland Elementary School will be participating in Operation Helping Hand. Families can participate by sending in a donation of non-perishable food on Wednesday, March 14th. Below is a link that provides more details and a list of items being collected.
