CLAS Writing Contest!
For all CO K-12 students!
Write this Way:
CLAS is hosting a writing contest for students of the Elementary, Middle, and High School levels. We have decided to establish this event as a way of inviting broader participation from teachers and students all over Colorado. This contest is a unique way of allowing students the chance to not only be published and presented (at the following year’s CLAS Conference), but a way to provide them an authentic audience as well. CLAS strives to provide teachers of English Language Arts a meaningful forum in which they can participate and show what they are doing in their classrooms. Showcasing student work is just another step we are taking to ensure CLAS members and teachers from Colorado receive professional development and networking opportunities that are important, valid, and now: celebratory. Please consider having your students participate in one of our four categories – Narrative, Informative, Opinion/Argument, or Poetry. We look forward to your participation!
3 Levels!
We will accept entries from Elementary, Middle, and High School students. We may even add a college level next year!
4 Categories!
- Narrative/Real or Imagined

There will be five winners chosen in each of the four categories for each of the three levels.
