HOMECOMING - OCTOBER 3 - 8

Principal's Update

Triton Parents and Families,

Homecoming is a time to celebrate all of the great things happening at Triton. We will continue to be in support of school spirit and helping create memorable experiences. As we head into these activities, we wanted to remind everyone that "because it's homecoming week" will not be a sufficient excuse for inappropriate behavior. We will not tolerate or participate in acts that are unsportsmanlike or destructive. We have so many things to be proud of, we have awesome students, great teachers, and supportive parents. Let's continue to work together to make sure all involved have a positive experience.

Thank you for your continued support! I hope homecoming is enjoyable for your children, family, and the Triton community. Together #WeAreTriton

Drivers Education Options

Learn how to drive with Mr. Johnson! Enhanced Driving Institute will be holding a driver’s ed class here at Triton, October 31st – November 11th (2 weeks, M-F) from 3:30-6:30pm. The three Behind the Wheel lessons would be held at the Rochester location. The Complete Package, which includes classroom and 6 hours BTW has a 10-month program agreement starting the first day of class. There is also a Classroom Only option that can be purchased that is not subject to a program agreement. This may be an option for those younger than age 15. If you have questions ask Mr. Johnson or visit the website for more detailed information and to register https://www. enhanceddrivinginstitute-mn. com/triton

St. Joseph Driving School is available for behind the wheel with pick up and drop off at home or school. Students or parents may call 507-259-7675 or 507-634-6293 to set up driving instruction. They are not offering classroom instruction at this time, however students have the option to do classroom online or in person with any driving school in the state of Minnesota.

Hot Chip Challenge

You can CLICK HERE to learn more about the TikTok challenge that we have heard has been taking place in our area. I can tell you that these are available in our local convenience stores and students have had access. This challenge involves eating an extremely hot pepper-based chip without taking a drink of water. Please take a moment to talk to your child about the dangers of this challenge. We will address this as needed here at school. But please note that students should not be in possession of these chips during school as they are not safe and create a distraction to the learning environment.

Digitial Tools Used at Triton

Triton Public Schools uses a variety of digital tools to support student learning. Technology vendors and software are utilized to support work as we help all students develop the skills necessary to succeed in an ever-changing world.

We have an inventory of our curriculum, testing, and assessment tools posted at https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1unjuIsIGGM2021Tdas_yEXLTsqA4oD1gkgZ_SXMUujA/edit?usp=sharing and include an outline of the student data elements within each tool. This list is maintained and communicated annually to all families at the start of the school year.

Please reach out to Technology Coordinator Rebecca Goossens (rgoossens@triton.k12.mn.us) or Technology Integrationist Coltt Ullom (cullom@triton.k12.mn.us) for additional questions regarding specific digital tools used in classrooms.

Sincerely,

Triton Public Schools
