Ms. Harris' Weekly Update
January 21st-24th
What's Going On This Week:
- Ms. Harris' Social Studies Class: This week we will start our new unit on the United States becoming a World Power. Students will receive their vocabulary words and create their flash cards in class. Please encourage your child to study these cards daily. They can also use our spellincity.com account to help them study. The log in and password is written inside of their SS notebooks. Students will take a vocabulary quiz on the 10 words will be towards the end of next week.
- Ms. Harris' GT ELA/Math: In math this week we will review exponents and adding and subtracting decimals. Students will have a timed test on Thursday only this week since it's a short week. In ELA we will finish our novel projects, revise and edit our snowmen interviews, and begin a short unit on text features and text structure. Students will also take their reading and math STAR test on Wednesday and Thursday of this week.

I hope everyone is enjoying their nightly reading of "Kenny and the Dragon." Remember that our One School One Book event will run through February 3rd.
