*****************CONGRATULATIONS ******************************
Your PSHS Art Department is the middle of our competition season…staying busy, busy, busy! We’re pleased to announce the results from two of our recent competitions: Scholastic Art & Writing and Youth Art Month State Exhibit.
Please help us as we congratulate the following students for their hard work and accomplishments.
SCHOLASTIC ART & WRITING:
Scholastic is the ONLY national competition the visuals arts currently has – it focuses on artwork that demonstrates originality, technical skill and an emergence of a personal voice or vision. The following students have received recognition at the regional level (Southwest Region At Large). Those that were awarded Gold Keys will automatically advance to compete at the national level. If their work is selected as finalists at the national level, they and their artwork will be invited to participate in an exhibit and award ceremony in NYC. (How exciting!!)

YOUTH ART MONTH – STATE EXHIBIT
The majority of K-12 PISD campuses annually submit artworks to be considered as district representatives in the Youth Art Month State Exhibit in Austin – only a handful of the submissions can be selected to represent Plano ISD. Not only did PSHS have multiple artworks selected to be a part of PISD’s entries, but we also had TWO of our student’s artworks chosen to be included in the Texas State Capitol YAM Exhibit!! (Way to go wildcat artists!!)
Please congratulate Doreen Chen and Sofia Murgado for having their artworks selected to be a part of the 2019 Texas State Capitol YAM Exhibit!!!
