Mr. Garvin, Biology and Forensics Teacher

"After weeks of preparation, students applied their forensic science knowledge to analyze a crime scene that was created by another group. They worked together to document the crime scene through photos, sketches, measurements, and notes. Students then collected evidence at the scene and used this evidence to make inferences about the crime (and had some fun while doing it!)."

Artists in the making led by our very own, Maestra Elba; Artist/ Instructor

Animal Essence Project- Art 2 students are using an inquiry-based approach for their current project. Students began by selecting an animal of their choice and then studying the animal's habits and characteristics. Once the research was completed students spent some time observing the animal in movement through videos to capture the animal's full essence. In accordance with their inquiry and observation, students had to problem solve as to how to tangibly represent "essence", which is intangible, through the use of colors, surfaces, materials, composition, and symbolism. Every student has taken on a different approach towards the way they are completing their final project because each animal has a different energy. Some students are painting large, others small, while others are using soft pastels and others are using pen and ink, amongst many other mediums.
