News from this week
Dear Parents,
We had a great time yesterday at Field Day and the class party! Despite the lousy weather causing us to have it in the gym, I think Field Day was pretty successful. We ended up getting 2 First and 2 Third places in some of the relays. The kids also had a great time. We will do the Annual Tug of War championship on Tuesday during our Specials. Thank you to Mrs. Tysver for planning a great activity and party! Also, thank you to all the parents who came out to help. Just 3 more days left of school. Your children have done great this year!

If you requested a summer reading packet from me, it will be in your child's Friday Folder. I also linked it under the News section on my eClass. Your child will be able to access my website in eClass until the end of July.
The Summer Reading program information for the media center will be in the Friday Folder. Also if your child completed the Winter reading log for the Six Flag tickets, the ticket will also be in the Friday folder this week. You do NOT need to return the Friday Folder on Monday. It is now yours to keep.
Finally, students MUST bring the book bags to school on the last day of school. They will not be able to ride the bus without it.
Have a great weekend!

Important Information
Parents,
We have an exciting school wide initiative for the 2018-2019 school year! Gwin Oaks Elementary School will be a PBIS School.
What is PBIS?
PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions Support) is a framework that will give Gwin Oaks Elementary School unified school expectations. Similar to the Gwin Oaks Elementary School Handbook, these rules will define our expectations for behavior in our school. You will see these expectations posted throughout the school and your child will be learning them during his or her first days at school. Our unified school expectations, found in every classroom and non-classroom setting in the school, are as follows:
Be Ready
Be Respectful
Be Responsible
As part of our PBIS process, teachers and other staff members use the discipline data we accumulate to develop evidence-based practices to increase student learning and decrease classroom disruptions. We will have incentives to encourage students to adopt the expectations in a positive manner. We look forward to sharing more with you and your student for the
2018-2019 school year.
Signed by the PBIS Committee
