Lincoln Log

(Virtual Learner Edition) December 11, 2020

At Lincoln, students are doing a wonderful job of demonstrating respect, responsibility, and compassion! Staff have asked to do a weekly shout out to recognize the efforts of students to demonstrate the qualities of a great Lincoln Logger. These announcements are made in the mornings on Thursday...they are our Thoughtful Thursday Shout-Outs. While students names are announced for both virtual and in person students to hear, I also write a personal postcard to each student thanking them for making Lincoln learning wonderful!

I am glad that this season with Lincoln Learners is a positive season full of good will towards others!

Best wishes on a great weekend!

Yours in partnership,

Mrs. Whooley Jepson

Which animal would YOU pick?

Mrs. Thao’s second grade class is doing an awesome research project. Students are picking any animal that they want to know more about. They are than doing research on that animal to find out more about them, like their habitat and what they eat. It will be fun to see which animals are chosen and what their research tells them. What animal would you pick to learn more about?

POETRY HOLIDAY WRITING HAPPENING IN MRS. ZOCH'S CLASS

This week Mrs. Zoch’s class explored creative writing and poetry. They were introduced to Cinquain poems and learned the steps and rules required to create these poems. Students then created their own cinquain poems describing their families. Here are a few examples of what they did.

No School Fridays

This is a reminder that classes will take place Monday-Thursday only! Friday is a day for staff to use for planning and prep time. No school for students on Friday! Some staff may connect with students who are struggling to keep up and may provide extra tutoring experiences. This would be done on an individual as-needed basis only.
