Covid Policy Updates (Reposted from last week)

Please read the update to the Diocesan Policy and clarifications regarding the Mask Policy:

Testing

  • Because obtaining a COVID-19 test is becoming increasingly more difficult, we will accept a positive on a home test as a “presumed positive” and begin our quarantine/isolation protocols. Isolation time will be counted from the date of the presumed positive result on the home test. A note from the parent indicating the date the student tested positive on a home test is required to determine the date of return. If a student testing positive on a home test obtains a follow-up negative diagnostic PCR test from a testing facility or healthcare provider, they may discontinue isolation and return to school. Upon return, the student will wear a mask for 5 additional days. Home tests may not be used to provide verification of testing negative for COVID-19.

Mask Policy

  • When the county positivity rate is 8% or higher, students are required to wear masks indoors, when changing classes, in the celebration of Mass, attending field trips, and at indoor sporting events.
  • Because we have UV lighting installed in our schools, masks may be removed (with teacher permission) when seated in class if social distancing can be maintained. Depending on classroom space and student count in the room, this may be different in each classroom. Masks may be removed while outside. Students also have mask breaks at snack, lunch, recess (outside).

Please see the attached Parent Reference Guide for more information. Remember, if your child tests positive, please let us know as soon a possible so that we can take appropriate steps to mitigate any further spread of the virus.
