Construction continues to move along at a nice pace. This time next year, we will be preparing for a move into the new building! We're so excited for our students and staff!

UPDATED CELL PHONE POLICY

We have recently seen an increase in the inappropriate use of cell phones with fake Instagram accounts, text messaging, phone calls and pictures being taken of others without their consent. For this reason we are changing our cell phone policy moving forward. Please read below.

Dismissal / After School Sports Spectator Policy / 5 PM Buses

We dismiss all students at 2:45. If students aren't part of our after school program through the YMCA or part of one of our athletic teams, they are expected to go home at the end of the day.

We have a no student spectator policy for our after-school sports program unless otherwise communicated. This means that unless a student has a sibling on the team and is with their parents, no students are permitted to A) stay after school to watch a game or B) leave school and come back to watch a game.

Our 5 PM buses are for athletes and after school program students only. Students are not permitted to leave school at 2:45 to go to a friends house and then return to FDR at 5 PM to take the bus home. Any student found returning to school to take the 5 PM bus home will be denied access to the bus.

Attendance Office

Please email our Attendance Secretary, Mrs. Maryann Carey at maryann.carey@bristoltwpsd.org to communicate early dismissals, absences and to send absence and doctor's notes.

Saturday Detention

Saturday Detentions will be assigned as discipline consequences for inappropriate behaviors while in school. If your child is assigned a Saturday detention, they must serve their detention on the date that it is assigned. Failure to complete the assigned hours will result in the exclusion from extra-curricular activities.

Saturday detentions are held at Truman High School from 8 am to 12 and are assigned in 2 hour increments. Students must arrive before 8 am or they will not be permitted to enter and will be required to attend at the next scheduled date.

Students must bring school work or a book to read while there and are not permitted to use electronic devices.

Vaping

Please speak to your children about the harms of Vaping and how it is illegal to possess and Vape in school. We have seen an increase in Vaping at school recently and this is a behavior of concern.

1st Offense - In place of a citation, student/parents have the option of purchasing Vape Educate online and complete the course. Proof of completion is required. Cost of Vape Educate $20.

2nd and subsequent Offenses - Student is cited and assigned additional consequences.
