Cool Spring Weekly Update
September 7, 2020
YAY for the First Day!
I hope that all of our families are getting some time to relax over the long weekend and that our students are excited for the first day of school! Even though this school year will start off a bit different, the first day of school always represents the beginning of new opportunities for learning, friendships and probably some unexpected adventures along the way. It is safe to say that we all (teachers, parents, students and administrators) probably feel a sense of excitement, eagerness and optimism along with a bit of nervousness and jitters.....and that is perfectly OK.
We will take time early on to make connections, develop routines and build familiarity with Schoology. We will start the school year off Tuesday at 8am. Please have your student log into Schoology and access the homeroom teacher's page. The exception is Fifth grade students, who will start off with specials area classes first and should access the appropriate class in Schoology. Staff will also be checking in with families to offer support as we work to get all of our students online and active within their classrooms. Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions you may have. We are all in this together!

Happy First Day!

Technology Support
Since Schoology is new for all of us, teachers will work with students to help them get acclimated to the layout and how to navigate the platform. If students or families have a technology issue and need support, please first contact your student’s teacher. There are often many glitches that your teacher or other staff can assist in correcting and our response time will be much quicker. If these efforts do not resolve the matter, then it would be appropriate to contact the Technology Support Center at (571)252-2112 or email at DDI-TechnologySupportCenter@lcps.org

Virtual Forms in ParentVue
- Families must use a web browser to complete online verification in portal.lcps.org. The mobile app is not supported for Online Verification
- If you receive a red message indicating Open Enrollment is not open, please contact your student’s school and ask them to remove the old pre-registration from your account.
- If you accidentally started an Online Pre-Registration, sign out and back in, then select “Start Over”. You will be able to select Online Verification from the drop down (please read the options carefully, we have recently re-ordered them to help make this more clear).
- If you need to reset your password, please use this link: https://portal.lcps.org/PXP2_Password_Help.aspx
Please contact the school office should you need additional assistance and we will do our best to help!
