Teacher Tips!

  • Many of us are beginning to think about the holidays and gift-giving. Having books at home to share is a wonderful way to support your child’s education. Consider buying books to give as gifts to your children. You can also pick up books at our Community Books locations in Ellettsville.

  • They don’t plug in or light up, but board games are still in style. They are also a great way for you to spend time with your children- and they are learning while playing! Games such as Candyland (color recognition), Chutes and Ladders (number recognition) and Scrabble Jr. (letters, spelling, vocabulary) not only teach these skills but also working together, following rules, taking turns, fair play, and social skills.

First Grade Sends Cards to Active Military Personnel for the Holidays

This year Mrs. Koos, EPS Librarian, wanted to involve her first-grade classes in the Holiday Cards for our Military Challenge. This challenge is a partnership with the Indiana Department of Education and New Hampshire Holiday Cards for our Military Challenge where anyone can make holiday cards and send them to Laura Landerman-Garber.

Not only did EPS send about 200 cards, but the students' cards can also be seen in the video posted below!

Although it is too late to join this challenge this year, mark your calendars for next. The deadline is always October 31st to allow enough time for Laura and her team to sort and send the cards to our military personnel who are unable to make it home for the holidays. You can find more information here.

Concessions: We will be planning for opening up the concessions stand for the upcoming RBBYS basketball and cheer season. Profits go directly back to our students!

Register to Support!

As the holiday season starts to gear up, make sure that you are signed up with Kroger Rewards and Amazon Smile. It's the easiest form of fundraising there is! EIS gets quarterly checks from both organizations and every cent matters!

THANK YOU!

Thank you to all the families and students who attended our annual Monster Bash event. It was such a great evening! We also want to say a big THANK YOU to all who helped plan, donated supplies, gave generously via monetary support, and who volunteered! We appreciate your support and could not have hosted this event without you.
