Toolbox Tool of the Month: Breathing Tool

This month AUSD will be focused on the Breathing Tool as we kick off the beginning of the 20-21 school year.

There has been extensive scientific research proving the benefits of deep breathing, which include positive effects on our brain, heart and immune system. Deep breathing turns on the vagus nerve that helps to stop the stress response and slows down our heart rate. The Breathing Tool is a handy tool during the months ahead for ourselves and our students. There are many ways to practicing the Breathing Tool so you are bound to find some ways that work for you. I have attached some videos, breathing exercises and books so you can practice the Breathing Tool in class and at home.
