The IEP Golden Ticket
Reminder! Please carefully use the checklist to review your IEP document before you finalize. This will help alleviate common mistakes that cost you time and amendments. Completed gold checklists are submitted with every finalized IEP.
Check! Section 7
Targeted case management must be included in Section 7 for all students. New to district students in particular may be missing this in their IEP.
Medicaid
Reminder: We log services weekly.
All billable logs should be entered and monthly summaries captured by the last day of the month. We run printable service reports once at the end of each month and send to Kim the next school day after month's end.
Surprise!!! A gift from MDE
As i shared with you earlier, a new expectation was issued on August 23, effective immediately, regarding required parent consent for transition assessments (the email I sent to you). We have a new compliance responsibility to secure parent consent for any Transition assessments, which for us includes both the STAT and the TPI. Permission to be renewed annually :)
As an immediate response, the county directors have released a document for us to use until we receive further guidance from the Mich Dept of Ed. No need to email me - everyone gets a personal visit! I will bring you copies of the parent consent form today.
Just a little hiccup - I'm confident we've got this. I am also CONFIDENT this will be a new item on our B-13 checklist in March. We are ready!
You are simply the best
Your hard work is evident! Dr. Moore shared his gratitude for our excellent attention to Medicaid billing. In a recent review of districts in the county, Montrose was excelling. Kudos to all of you - and thank you for your vigilance and attention to detail.
