Are phones helpful or hurtful?
Phones might just be making our world today hurtful
A New World
This paragraph talks about how back in the day you didn't have a phone or a way to instantly contact people unless you were rich or a spy. It also says it's unbelievable how dependent we are on our phones and how much we've change in a span of such little time. But this paragraph doesn't take sides like most others did.
Do you think digital distraction is a big issue for learners today?
No.
Phones are most definately not hurting us, every advance of technology has scared everyone- everytime they think it's different but it isn't. In the paragraph History of Panic it said Socrates had feared we would become dumb if we started writing things down, and then some opposeed the idea of mass printing book because "Surely, some said, the human mind wouldn't be able to handle the overwhelming amount of information."
So no. Phones aren't going to tear this world in two.

How will this article change my cell phone usage?
It won't. Yet I still use my phone too much, it takes away from my sleep and is totally unhealthy. But this article hasn't convinced me to change. Maybe when I get older but for now I probably won't change.
