Legislation introduced that would help Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Plant stay operational
I also want to clarify something that I have had several questions on. The question is basically--If Davis-Besse says open will the Benton-Carroll-Salem Schools still need the 1% earned income tax? The answer is YES! B-C-S has already taken the financial hit due to the de-valuation of Davis-Besse two years ago. The plant staying open will not increase the value of the plant and will not help our immediate financial needs to keep our district strong. With that said, we are still working hard to keep Davis-Besse open because we know its closure would be catastrophic for this community and our region. We need to maintain the great paying primary and secondary jobs associated with Ohio's two nuclear power plants (4300 statewide!) and need to keep nuclear power as a source of clean and reliable power on the grid.
If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask. I wish you all the best as we finish strong during the last 7 weeks of this school year!

#MAKEADIFFERENCEMONDAY
For the next several weeks B-C-S will be featuring our 2019 graduating Seniors! A fun fact about this year’s graduating class is that there are 4 sets of twins that will be graduating this coming May! Each week we will feature one of 4 sets of graduating twins.
This week B-C-S is featuring, Class of 2019 Senior’s Jaclyn and Michael Wojciechowski!
1. Please tell the B-C-S Community a little about yourself.
Jaclyn: Hello, I am Jaclyn Wojciechowski. I am a senior at Oak Harbor High School. I like golf, working out, and spending time with my friends. I fill my spare time by working at Kohls and doing volunteer work.
Michael: My name is Michael Wojciechowski, and I am currently a senior at OHHS. I enjoy playing football, lifting, and fishing in my free time. I also work at Lowe’s, where I mix and stock paint.
2. What are your career plans and goals and how do you plan to achieve them?
Jaclyn: I will be attending William Penn University where I will be majoring in Business and playing on the Women’s Golf Team. After college, I plan to get my LPGA card to be a certified golf professional. This would allow me to teach, coach, or run a golf course. My ultimate goal is to work in the golf retail business.
Michael: After I graduate high school, I will be attending Stetson University to play football and pursue a degree in finance, with a minor in sports business.
3. What is your favorite high school memory?
Jaclyn: One of my favorite high school memories is hiding my high school golf coach’s car keys during a golf match. After the match, I forgot to give them back in which he drove around the golf course for two hours looking for them until I called him to let him I know I had the keys. As you can imagine our next golf practice was not pleasant.
Michael: My favorite high school memory was my senior year of football. Nothing was quite as rewarding as being a part of the first team in a while to win the conference and advance to the playoffs.
4. What is the best advice you could give to underclassman?
Jaclyn: My first suggestion is if you have aspirations of going to college take CCP courses. CCP courses will challenge you, help prepare you for college, and save you money. My second suggestion is to always be yourself. Trust me, you will succeed.
Michael: My advice for underclassmen would be to find something that you love doing, and work towards it. It’s amazing how far you can get by following your passion.
5. What’s on your bucket list this summer?
Jaclyn: One thing on my bucket list this summer is to go to the beach.
Michael: My bucket list for this summer includes going to Cedar Point, hanging out with friends, and lots of fishing.
