Social Studies Curriculum
TVUSD engages in an ongoing cycle of reviewing our curriculums to ensure that they continue to align with our district goals, current learning standards, teaching practices, and the rapidly changing associated technologies. This year we created a team of teachers from every grade level, at every school site, to review and pilot new history social science curriculums. This pilot team had the opportunity to review the updated History Social Science Framework (adopted in 2016), and The Fair Education Act (adopted in 2012). They also received presentations from 4 publishers on the California Department of Education’s approved curriculum list prior to selecting TCI and Studies Weekly as the two curriculums TVUSD would pilot. After piloting each curriculum for 9 weeks, our pilot team reconvened to make a collaborative recommendation to the school board for adoption approval.
As a parent or guardian of an elementary school student, we are interested in your feedback. The materials have been available for public review at the District Office, and we recognize the need to make them more accessible to you. Both of these curriculums are also available at our school site. If you would like to come review both curriculums, please note that we will ask you to sign-in through our Raptor system, and we will ask you to complete a Google Form following your review of the instructional materials. Your input will be collected and used as part of the process in selecting the best curriculum to support history social science standards for TVUSD elementary students.
Lost and Found & Student Item Pick up
As we approach the end of the school year there are many items that need to be collected. Lost and Found items are always available for students to look through at the lunch tables. Please encourage your children to search for any missing items this week. Beginning on Tuesday all Lost and Found items will be available for parents to look through in front of the school. We will place them outside the office before school and bring in before closing for the day. Any items not collected by end of day June 9th will be donated to Good Will.
Students Classroom Items Collection
Please send your child to school next week with either an empty backpack or empty plastic bag. Teachers will begin sending home students with all their items in the classroom (pencil boxes, art projects, etc.). Look for information from your teachers for further details.
Message from the Health Office
As we approach the end of the 23/24 school year, we would like to remind you if your child has any medication at school it will need to be picked up on or before June 9th. All medication will be discarded if not picked up by June 9th. If your child requires medication at school a new physician’s medication order form must be signed for the upcoming 2023/2024 school year dated after 6/9/2023. Each medication must have its own form.
The Temecula Valley Unified School District website (www.tvusd.k12.ca.us) has the
Authorization for the Administration of Medication form located under the
“Departments” tab in the drop down list titled Health Services; click on Medications at School.
Each student has taken home 1 covid test this week. If any more are needed, please stop by the Health Office.
If you need further assistance, please call the health office.

Drop-off and Pick-up Procuedures
Drop-off and Pick-up Procedures
- All students in grades 1st thru 5th will now be dropped off and picked up in the big loop. Students will enter campus through the large, double gates near the loop. The ONLY students that are to be dropped off near the office, through the staff parking lot, are TK, Kinder, special education students, and busses. All other traffic will be stopped at the entrance.
- The small gate between Kinder and BASES will now be closed.
- When entering the 1st - 5th loop, all traffic will be directed in from Paseo Durango, making right runs only. See image markings in yellow below. No left turns into the loop will be allowed, nor will students be allowed to cross the street, which is a huge safety concern, on Camino San Jose.
- There will be grade level signs in the loop for students to wait in, for easier identification.
- Students in grades 1-2 will be walked to the large, double gates to meet up with any siblings they have and wait with them.
- Students in grades 3-5, will find their sibling at their grade-level sign
- TK, Kinder, and special education students may enter from Camino San Jose - shown in green on the image below.
- There is NO Parking allowed in any loops at any time. This stops traffic. If you want to park and wait for gates to open or to walk your children in, please find parking in a designated location and walk them in.
Volunteers Wanted!
Parents, do you know you can sign up to volunteer on our sites again? Click Here for information on how to become a TVUSD volunteer. One change in this process includes allowing for volunteers to provide photo evidence of a negative Over-the-counter home test.
Your student needs to bring a fully charged iPad and water bottle daily.
