A Few reminders from the office

As we have been getting into the school year, I thought that it might be important share a couple of reminders with families.

1. It is important that every day at school every student is accounted for. Please remember to either call the office at 802-878-1381, email me at jaldrich@ewsd.org or if you prefer, there is a form that you can fill out on on our homepage at ewsd.org/fle or attached is the direct link to the form:

If we don't hear from you, the absent will be considered an unexcused absence.

2. If you need to pick you student up during the day: if you are emailing the teacher directly, please include me in the front office as well. This helps to ensure that the student is ready on time, as they can be in different locations other than their classroom at that time, and helps me to find them without disrupting classrooms unnecessarily.

Thank you for your help and continued support.

What to Expect if there's a positive case of Covid-19 at School

During the PTO meeting, Mr. Roy shared the below slideshow with those who attended regarding what to expect if there's a positive case of Covid-19 at school. We are sharing it in the newsletter, so more parents can view it. Below is the link:

Veteran's Day

Veteran's Day at Fleming has always been a day of remembrance, and even though we could not invite people into our building for our annual assembly, or for that matter have all students in the gym, we were able to hold our very first virtual assembly school wide!

Ms, McClintok's cousin Jake Dubie, talked with students about his service as a fighter pilot. Classrooms came up with a few questions that they had for Jake to answer during our assembly. Students were very interested in learning what he had to say.

Thank you to our families and community members for your service!

PBIS News

For PBIS this week, our focus has been on the theme word grateful. Classrooms have been having conversations in class on what they are grateful for.

Share with your kids tonight what you are grateful for and see where the conversation leads.

We are thankful for all the great families we have this year that are helping to make our jobs easier!

Photo Retake Day

Just a reminder that our school photo retake day is this coming Thursday, November 19th. If you are unhappy with your photo, please send your photo package back to school that day, and they will retake your photo.

If you were absent the original day of photos, this is your opportunity to have them redone. Please let your child's teacher know if you need an order form, and they can send one home with your student.

Dressed for the Weather

Vermont fall and winter weather is upon us. We have had conversations with the kids about being prepared each day and dressing in layers. We will be going outside each day for recess and sometimes PE no matter if it is sunny, rainy or snowing. We talked about how right now the weather is cool and sometimes rainy so best to bring an extra layer or even rain boots or an umbrella for the wet days. Any help with reminding your child about what the weather is for the day and items they may need before they leave for school would be appreciated. Thanks!!

Falcon Exchange (Formerly Emily's Closet)

Fleming School hosts a clothing closet for families and students here at school. We are looking for donations of clothing in good condition. We are in the most need of children's clothing at this time. Preferably season appropriate.

Arrangements to drop off clothing can be done through our Howard Center Clinician Ali Fallon at Afallon@ewsd.org or by calling the office.

Thank you!
