"Strong Girls, Strong Parents, a Guide to Raising Teenage Girls in a New Era"
Moms of Daughters!!! Please join us tonight, Wed Dec 6th at 7pm for our next Z'havah event! Robin Sabag, author of "Strong Girls, Strong Parents, a Guide to Raising Teenage Girls in a New Era", will speak and lead an interactive discussion. Sponsored by Z'havah and Temple Sinai's religious school and hosted at Maegan Rigberg's house in Maple Glen! (Reply for address)
Topics will include providing tools for parents to help teen girls be flexible, problem solve, handle conflict, regulate emotions, handle disappointment, feel confident, and assert needs. Robin will touch on brain development, separation and individuation, identity formation, connections with peers, setting limits, and self esteem.
The following questions that parents often ask will be addressed:
- What is the line between dieting and eating disorders?
- Should I be checking my teen's phone?
- What are some ways to help my teen deal with stress?
- Why is my teen so moody?
- When is the right time to bring up sex?
- My teen is always in the room with the door shut, is that normal?
- I have concerns about my child's friends. What should I do about it?

A little about Robin:
Robin Axelrod Sabag,LCSW is the author of Strong Girls, Strong Parents, a Guide to Raising Teenage Girls in a New Era. Sabag is a clinical social worker, and marriage and family therapist who has been helping teens and their families to improve their communication skills and to build stronger family bonds for over fifteen years. She also works with individuals and couples.
Sabag has worked in a variety of settings, including residential treament centers and outpatient settings, and been in private practice as the provider of clinical and oversight services. A sought-after mental health expert, she often speaks and writes on the topic of teenage girls and has been adjunct professor at Temple University. Additionally, Sabag has been on Fox TV, offering advice on how to discuss hate crimes with children.
