WELCOME BACK
Kia ora, We would like to welcome you back to term 4 of school.
My name is Maui and I’m the Kiwi Whanau leader.
My name is Kruize and I am the sports leader.
We hope you all had a really great holiday and your first two weeks back at school have been phenomenal. In a couple of weeks Kauri has a couple sports events. In week 4 Kauri will have rippa rugby and soon after PCT challenge. So now is the time to start getting ready for the season.
TOUCH:
Touch is now back on. I hope you have enjoyed your last game so many more games to come. good luck and have fun for the rest of the games.
SOMADD:
For the past 2 weeks Kauri has been doing SOMADD. Some Kauri students have been learning dance. Today we had a dance teacher come in and teach the Salsa dance. Other students are exploring music and art from around the world.
Labour Day:
We have been learning about persuasive writing.
This week we are exploring famous New Zealanders that have helped NZ be the way it is today like Kate Sheppard who helped all the women vote for the first time.

Kauri MasterChef
We have seen a variety of dishes created and I have a full tummy from all the taste testing I have done.

Together, we raised $58.50 for Pink Shirt Day!

Loud Shirt and Wacky Hair Day this Friday
Loud Shirt Day is the annual appeal of The Hearing House and the Southern Cochlear Implant Programme, the only two charities in New Zealand that deliver Cochlear Implant services and dedicated to ensuring that children and adults with hearing loss have the opportunities to listen and communicate with spoken language.
Wear your loudest shirt this Friday and or have your wackiest hair to help raise awareness for kids and adults with hearing loss listen and speak.
Gold coin donation optional.
What a great start to Touch!
We would all like to say a HUGE thank you to all our coaches - including some who have never played, coached or even seen a game of touch before. They are all showing Kia Maia and being courageous to step up to something new.
Thank you also to all the whanau who came along to support the players - we hope you enjoyed it and we look forward to doing it all again today!
