Moon Phases

1st and 3rd quarter

My perspective is different than astronauts because they are actually on the moon, so that means they see the entire moon while from earth we only see half of the moon. On the moon it appears much bigger and the Sun is hitting it where that would be the side we don't see for astronauts.

Waxing or Waning?

A first quarter would be a week after the new moon so that means light is on the right, and its a waxing moon phase. For a 3rd quarter light is on the left so that means it's a waning moon phase.

Similarities and Differences

They are alike by both looking like they are half lit on the moon, but different by the light being on a different side than the other.
