Thomas's Summer
Especially made for Thomas
Summer recommendations
Lego Wedo
I think this camp and the one offered next look very similar.Either one I am pretty sure Thomas would love. This camp is offered at Greenhill. You can pick from June 16-20 or July 21-25.
Play-Well Tecknologies
Hockaday has some great offers for 21st century summer camps. This camp looks like it combines all of what Thomas loves: engineering and legos. Visit the website to learn more http://www.play-well.org This camp is offered at Hockaday July 21-25 12:30-3:30
Video Game creation
Hockaday offers an Activation Animation class with Scratch. This camp runs July 21-25. The Pro-Bots and more class is a coding class. This class is offered multiple times over the summer. I think Thomas could do either one of these or both of them.
Summer Reading
The best advice I can give anyone is to read over the summer. Did you know that your child can get a plethora of prizes just for reading? I have listed below some of my favorites. I will give you a more detailed list later. I highly encourage you to "double-dip" in these programs. I would gather all of the logs and then start recording your reading.
Lamplighter might do something with the Texas Bluebonnet Awards. The books on this list are voted on by librarians across Texas. What I like about these books is that they cover so many genres. At ESD, we have students read and respond to 10 books on the list over the summer and course of the school year.
Barnes and Noble Summer Reading
Read a few books and get a free one with Barnes and Noble.
Half Price Books Summer Reading
This reading incentive program has you read for a certain number of minutes and earn a gift card.
Dallas Public Library
The Public LIbrary has some great giveaways. You can get tickets to a baseball game, the circus, or even the movies just for reading.
