Tom Winland
A family man 1928 - 2014
Love
Tom Winland was an amazing man, A.K.A pappy. As a child he lost his mother at age 4 and was in an orphanage for 3 years before his father could raise him. He was raised by his father and grandfather. At age 17 he lost 1 sister in a car crash and the other to illness. Pappy married an amazing woman. My nanna, Marie Winland, gave him 4 children. My grandma, Jessie smith, and David and Tina Weldon. The 4th child, Tom Jr. passed as an infant who they only knew for 6 weeks. Nanna passed in her 60's due to breast cancer which later spread to her bones. Despite all of this tragedy in his life, he raised 3 children, built his home with his own two hands, and got to spend his life with 3 children, 6 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren who loved him till the end.

On the way
Pappy was born and raised in Martins Ferry, Ohio. At a later age though, he was moved to Virginia to be with his daughter Jessie and the rest of our family.
