Week 21: February 5-8

Reading: We have been working on making connections (text to text, text to self, text to world). Next week we will continue to stop and think deeper about our stories by retelling, visualizing the story, and retelling the story after we finish.

Writing: We will continue to write how-to stories and will learn about the features of informational writing.

Math: We will be taking our mid-year Math DPM (district progress monitoring).

Word Work: We will continue to practice vowel pairs (ex: oa, ai, ay, ea, oi)

Sight Words: review all kinder

1st grade: he, she, with, by, was, where, who

PBIS Skill: Staying on Task

*Saturday, February 6: Barnes and Noble book fair @ Champions

*Tuesday, February 9: NO visitors due to testing in the building

*Wednesday, February 10: Valentine Gram money due

*Thursday, February 11: Spring Portraits

*Friday, February 12: Students can bring in a valentine for every student. We will decorate Valentines bags in class (I will provide bags). Students can bring in stickers or decorative items to decorate their Valentines bag with. I will have cut out paper hearts as well.

*Helping Hands: If you want to donate to our classroom, a couple of our needs are: skinny Expo dry erase markers, Mr. Clean magic erasers, Lysol wipes, and white printer paper.
