California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP).
This year, your child will take the following test(s), depending on their grade
level:
● Smarter Balanced Summative Assessments for English language arts/literacy and
mathematics in grades three through eight and grade eleven.
● California Science Test (CAST) in grades five and eight and once in high school
The Smarter Balanced Summative Assessments and the CAST are online tests that
measure what your student knows and is able to do. The tests include many different
types of questions that allow students to interact with the test questions. Results help
identify gaps in knowledge or skills early on so your child can get the support needed to
be successful in school.
The testing dates are as follows: English Language Arts and Math: April 29 through May 10
Science: To be determined
You are an important part of your child’s education. To help your child get ready for the

Become a PTO Officer
Are you ready to help enrich students' school experiences?
Elections for next year’s PTO Officers (President, Vice President, Secretary and
Treasurer) take place at our next PTO meeting on Tuesday, April 2nd. We would love for you to come, get involved and share new ideas to make a positive difference for our students. If you have questions, please call Michelle in the office, and she can answer your questions (she served as PTO president) or direct you to somebody who can answer them. Our meeting will start at 6:30 PM in the staff lounge, and childcare will be provided.
Fourth Grade See's Candy Fundraiser
Fourth grade students are selling See’s Candy from March 25th - April 2nd to raise money for their Fort Bragg trip next year. Please see a fourth grade student or come into the office if you would like to order. See's candy is a great Easter gift!
