The results of this week’s COVID testing showed 24 positive cases. There were a total of 1055 tests performed.
Below is a breakdown of staff and students who signed up to test, how many took the test, and vaccination percentages. I encourage everyone who signed up to take the test to do so as it helps keep everyone safe. If you have not signed up, please do so in your Unified Classroom Account under Forms by Wednesday to start your testing the following week.
***We have verified that the PCR tests that are provided are able to detect all known variants of COVID, including the new variant, Omicron.
***Please note: If your child did not complete the test at home, we will not be able to have them test at school. Please be sure to administer the test either the night before or in the morning before they go to school.
When you receive your report from O’hare Labs, the report is password protected. The password is your child’s Date of Birth in the following format: MMDDYYYY. Please only use numbers.
If your child submitted a test but you did not receive your results via email, please send an email to Results@ohareclinicallab.com and include your child’s First Name, Last Name, Date of Birth, and Test Date (01/05) in the email. The email is monitored frequently every day. Please read this e-notice for directions on how to administer the test and return it to the school.
Please be sure to maintain COVID mitigation strategies at home, including masking, washing hands, and maintaining a distance of six feet between people outside your home, especially while indoors.
Reporting Student Absences
If your child or someone in your house is experiencing COVID symptoms, please get a COVID test. It is imperative that students who are ill stay home so they do not infect anyone else at school.
If the COVID test is positive, please reach out to email@example.com or call 847-457-9314. When reporting an absence for other illnesses, contact the school nurse.
Please provide the following information:
Student’s first name and last name
Parent email and phone number
If your child tests positive for COVID, provide the date of the test and type of COVID test administered
Thank you for your cooperation in helping everyone stay healthy.
How to Sign Up for Weekly COVID Testing
D103 offers free weekly PCR testing through O’Hare Clinical labs. Testing is voluntary and requires consent to participate. We encourage everyone to sign up to take the weekly test, whether your student is vaccinated or not. If a child were to test positive, your child would need to isolate and follow the guidelines listed in the IDPH Interim Exclusion Guidance. If your child is found to be a close contact, District 103 will consult with the Lake County Health Department and follow the options listed in the IDPH Revised Public Guidance for Schools.
For information on testing, please refer to the below documents.
Consent Form - Please log into your child’s Unified Classroom account to access the digital form to give consent for both the PCR and BinaxNow tests. This short video will provide you with step-by-step directions for completing the form.
