Home Expectations
Take Home Folders
Please check the green take home folders nightly. The folder will be a place for important school papers, notes from the teacher, reading log, spelling lists, and behavior log.
On the back of the green folder, you will find your child's behavior log. Please look at those daily and initial them. behavior expectations are based on our PBIS model.
On the return to school side of the folder, you will find your chidl's reading log. Please ensure that your child reads Monday-Thursday night for 20 minutes. Reading is important! Weekly Spelling lists will also be on the return to school side. Please leave the spelling lists in the folder daily as your child will be completing spelling practice in class.
Homework
Reading:
Reading is very important. I ask for students to read 20 minutes per night. Please help your child fill out the nightly reading log. It is a book of their choice. If you need a book sent home for your child to read, please let me know.
Spelling:
All spelling practice is completed in class daily, however if you can, please review your child's word list with them (just 5 minutes). A few ideas include: spelling the words aloud, air spelling words with your hands (tracing the letters to make the words in the air).
Please leave weekly spelling lists in green homework folders daily/nightly. Students use their spelling lists daily in spelling activities.
Class Dojo Expectations

Students are expected to earn atleast 10 points per day. Is there a chance students could earn more than 10 points in a day? Yes! If students reach 10 positive points by 12:00, then I encourage students to try to earn 15 and so on. Our class works on positive goals everyday!
