This week we kicked off the 2017-2018 UIL Academics practice season. Students began meeting with their UIL coaches during SKOLAR time. Students who are participating in more than one event will rotate through to their various practices on a weekly basis. We are very proud of the work that these students are doing, and we invite you all to join us at the District UIL Meet in at Florence Middle School on January 26th to see them in action!

Semester Exam Schedule

December 11 - Periods 1 & 5

December 12 - Periods 2 & 6

December 13 - Periods 3 & 7

December 14 - Periods 4 & 8

IF your child will be missing semester exams for any reason, they will be able to take them upon return in January. Our semester actually ends January 12, so there will be time to get the exam reviewed and completed without having to take it early. If your final is performance based, you are still required to perform at the scheduled time.

We hope our PTO family enjoyed their Thanksgiving break as much as our teachers enjoyed the awesome desserts you provided. Thank you, their hearts were full! To see pictures of the event please visit our Facebook page.

Our next teacher hospitality event is our annual cookie exchange on Dec 15th. Please help us make this a success by baking some homemade cookies for our teachers.

Speaking of cookies!

Please come join us at our December meeting at Tami Carlton's house Tuesday, December 12th at 6pm. We'll be having a fun festive time decorating sugar cookies for our LVMS teachers. Refreshments will be served. Please call Tami at 512-470-3842 to RSVP and get address and directions.

**Membership is still needed!

LVMS is proud to present Project Vinátta, our very first "No Place for Hate" student-led, anti-hate/anti-bullying coalition. It's called Project Vinátta, for that's the Viking word for friendship. Students participating in Project Vinátta will be conducting a variety of inclusive, anti-hate activities within the school and community throughout the year. Students had the opportunity to fill out an application to explain why they would be an asset to the group. The Project Vinátta Coalition will begin developing activities this week during Skolar time.

Any parents who might be interested in serving as the parent representative on our Project Vinátta Coalition, please refer to the application and video link below.
