4-H Public Speaking Contest Results
The annual Washington County 4-H Public Speaking Contest took place on Sunday, April 25, 2021 at the Washington County Fairgrounds, in the Rybin Building. It was a great contest for our Washington County youth. A big thank you to our Washington County 4-H Council and the Washington County Fair Board for sponsoring the event by providing awards and the facilities.
Youth from ages 5 to 18 years old have an opportunity to participate in the 4-H Public Speaking program from county to state levels. 4-H members in four age divisions; Clover Kids (5 to 7 years old), Junior (8 to 9 years old), Intermediate (10 to 13 years old) and Senior (14 to 18 years old) are to prepare an original speech about 4-H. Two Washington County youth will advance to the State Public Speaking Contest to be held on June 30th in Lincoln. Great work was shown by all, kudos!

Washington County 4-H Awards Donors
The Washington County 4-H Council Awards Fund is utilized to cover costs of recognition such as medals, trophies, plaques and scholarship dollars for our 4-H events, contests and programs throughout the year with much of the funds utilized for the Washington County Fair 4-H awards. In addition, the Awards Fund will be utilized for special programs and events such as the 4-H Ambassadors Program and our annual 4-H Achievement Celebration.
Our 4-H youth put a lot of time and hard work into their projects. The recognition and awards becomes a lasting reminder of an important project and learning experience for our 4-H members. Without asking for assistance, we would not be able to reward their efforts. The Washington County 4-H Council encourages your support.
