Libby Tiger Newsletter
News for our Families for the Week of September 26-30, 2022
Principal's Message/Mensaje de la Directora
Read, Read, Read!
Often our Libby Tigers are reminded to read every day! We encourage our students to read, because reading is the foundation for all our learning. We read for information, we read for fun, and we read because we want to grow our knowledge!
Reading begins as early as when your child is learning to talk! When we speak to our children, they are learning important sounds, and we can continue this early learning by playing songs, singing nursery rhymes, and asking them to point out letters when they are with you driving in the car. This can be done in English or your native language.
For our older students, we can encourage them to read by being a role model for them, setting family time to read together, visiting the library, or just by turning on the Closed-Captioning on your next Netflix movie. Make it entertaining. When we make it fun, we help our children to fall in love with reading!
Here at school our hard-working teachers and staff will monitor, teach, and support your child every step of the way! We look forward to meeting with you during our Parent/Caregiver Conferences which are scheduled for October 17-24 (each day will be a minimum day-12:25pm). Please look for information from your child's teacher soon. Our conferences are in-person this year! Be sure to sign-up! Thank you!
Sincerely,
Ms. Cuevas

Parent/Caregiver Conferences-October 17-24, 2022
Mark your calendars! October 17-24
Please be sure you look for information for our upcoming, in-person, parent/caregiver conferences. Families are encouraged to meet with their child's teacher to discuss progress. This information will help you learn more about grade-level curriculum expectations, social-emotional support, and a time for teachers to share how families can help their child at home.
Each of the days for parent/caregiver conferences will be a Minimum day and all grade-levels TK-5 will dismiss at 12:25pm. Our pre-school classes will not dismiss at this time, but will stay on their regular schedule.
Your feedback is needed!
We want to ask for your important feedback on our Literacy Grant Survey. Your opinion and voice matters so that we can provide literacy and language support for our Libby Tigers.

School News You Can Use
Weekly Envelope!
Every week your child takes home a weekly information envelope. Inside are important flyers, letters, and items that need your attention. Please remove the items and return the signed envelope back to school with your child. Thank you!
Play First, Then Eat!
Our Libby Tigers have a new lunch routine. Our students, except TK and Kindergarten, play first, then eat. We find that we have far less food waste, and our students return to class more relaxed and ready to learn. Here is our Libby Daily Schedule which includes our Lunch Schedule.
Attendance Matters!
Please be sure your child arrives on time and attends school every day! When students miss school they miss valuable learning time. If your child is sick, please keep them home until they are feeling better. Please report all absences to our Attendance Hotline at 760-901-7001. Attendance Matters! Every student! Every day! Thank you for your help and support.
