being raised to help them reach their goal of $6,000 to go to the Global Finals in Tennesse at the end of the month. If you would like to donate to their cause, checks are being accepted in our office.

Yearbook Order Forms are Now Available!

If you would like to order a 2015-16 school yearbook for your student, forms are available in our office or in any teacher's classroom. Yearbooks cost $20 and need to be ordered by Monday, June 6th. Yearbooks will be available for distribution in September.

Thank you 8th Grade Parents for Hosting a Memorable Evening!

An enormous thank you goes out to our 8th grade Dance party planners! Our cafeteria was transformed thanks to Becky Bohl, Katie Eichler, Michelle Triemstra, Maria Perez, Karen Kruizenga and Karin Fitzpatrick. The students enjoyed the photo booth, themed foods and glow sticks. Our students looked fantastic! Thanks to all of our chaperones and helpers on the night of the event. I think it is a night they will always remember!

OMS Tennis Team is Now 4-1

Congratulations to the OMS tennis team! They soundly defeated

rival Plainwell at home this week. Winning matches for the Bulldogs were: Lauren Layman, Luc McPherson, Caleb Korringa, Karina Hess, Caleb Piersma, Seth Stender, Kyle Brown, Dave Stiles, Turner Rohr, Kiersten Hicks, Kayla Merrill, Cole Rogers, Morgan Shearer, Michaela Triemstra, Amanda Parsons, Jocelyn Sallee, Dagim DeBoer, Ben Bickel, Nova Plumley, and Katie Piersma. Good job OMS Racqueteers!

25 7th Graders Accepted the 100 Science Vocabulary Challenge! They were rewarded with a pizza party for their efforts! Good luck on the Science M-STEP Monday & Tuesday!

OMS Staff Gets Spoiled During Staff Appreciation Week!

An ENORMOUS thank you to all of our wonderful OMS families for making us feel so special during staff appreciation week! We loved all of the cards, emails and treats letting us know how thankful you are for all that we do. Each day the staff enjoyed a special treat!

Friday's breakfast was provided by our OMS Student Council members and their families.

Fall Sports at OMS

  • Volleyball (7th & 8th grades) try-outs begin August 29th.
  • Cross Country (6th-8th grades) practice begins August 22nd.
  • Football (7th & 8th grades) begins August 22nd. Look for additional information soon.

All athletes will need a physical after April 15, 2016, a consent form and a $10 participation fee.

Sports Physicals Available

The Borgess Family Medicine & Pediatrics (345 Naomi St., Plainwell) office will be hosting a Plainwell & Otsego Sports physical on Saturday, June 4th from 7:30 a.m. - noon. The cost is $10.

Borgess Orthopedic (2490 S. 11th St., Kalamazoo) will also be hosting a physical day on Saturday, May 21st. Students must be in line by 10 a.m. Doors open at 8 a.m. The cost is $10.

Cell Phone Usage

Please remind your student that unless a teacher specifically instructs students to bring their cell phone to class, cell phones should remain in their lockers including at lunch time. Thank you for your help in this matter.

Otsego Swim Club Gearing up for the Summer Season!

Season is over, but Summer Swim Season will be coming! Start date to be around May 23 and will continue until July 23. All those who want to swim competitively are welcome and encouraged to join! It is a great way for multi-athletes to stay in shape over the summer!
