Walking the Grief Journey

Wednesday evenings (6pm—7:30pm) on October 2nd, 16th, 23rd, and 30th, Pastor Ryan will lead a, supportive, compassionate series for those who have experienced the loss of a loved one.

In this group, each will learn some of their own natural ways of coping with loss, as we seek together God’s strength and guidance on the journey.

The four-session class will culminate on All Saint’s Sunday (Nov. 3rd), when the whole congregation will remember the saints who have died in faith.

The class will meet in the Council Room.

We need cars for Trunk or Treat part of the Fall Festival!

ONE October Stewardship Events

Pledge cards will be blessed on Stewardship Sunday, October 20 during both worship services.

“Then one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back...and thanked him.”

Luke 17:11-19

Soon you will receive a Stewardship Packet in the mail. It will include a letter, pledge card, and a puzzle piece. Please be sure to read over the material and plan to spend some time discerning how you will give to First English Lutheran in 2020.

Pledge Card. Please prayerfully consider how God is calling you to support the mission of FELC. These pledges are crucial as FELC leaders create the 2020 budget.

Puzzle Piece. When you bring your pledge card, bring in your puzzle piece, too. There will be a table in the narthex throughout October, as we all piece together the puzzle.

Pledges help us piece together our financial plan for 2020; your contributions make our One Mission possible.

Snack Pack Donations: October is Oatmeal Packets

The Snack Pack program at Von Steuben Middle School is off to a great start. We are providing food for 168 students every week.

If you'd like to donate foods items, we will be suggesting a specific item for each month. In October please bring in Oatmeal Packets.

Thank you for your continued support and generosity.

Nursery Attendant Updates

For the past few weeks we have been without a paid Nursery Attendant in the church nursery area on Wednesday nights or Sunday mornings. We are currently interviewing applicants for the Nursery Attendant position and hope to have this position staffed soon.

If you or someone you know would be interested in providing childcare in our Nursery on Wednesday nights or Sunday mornings, please contact Kathy Neptun for more information.

For parents and caregivers: "there's no lifeguard on duty" right now in the nursery and we appreciate your help watching and picking up after the kids who enjoy our space.
