Shockley's February Happenings
Painting Hearts
We mixed together glue, shaving cream, and paint to make beautiful hearts to decorate the hallways with.
Transportation
We learned a lot about transportation this month. We colored and assembled school buses cars to hang in the hallways.
Sorting Hearts
We worked on a Valentines project where we sorted hearts by color. We then had to line them up from smallest to largest and glue them to paper.
Transportation Then and Now
We used our voice output devices to learn about how transportation has changed over the past 300 years. Students had to make choices to decide if the item presented was present day transportation or transportation from long ago. We also glued these in chart form to hang in the hallway.
Pack A Suitcase
We used voice output devices to determine items that would be appropriate to pack in a suitcase for a trip, and items that would not be appropriate to pack. We glued these to a suitcase on construction paper.
Egyptian Hieroglyphs
We used a key to decipher Egyptian Hieroglyphs. We had to match pictures to letters to find out a secret phrase.
Food
We learned about foods from different countries. We had to match the food to the correct store.
Reports
We learned about people from different countries. We each were assigned a person. We learned about what country they came from and facts about the country. We had to use voice output devices to present our reports to our classmates.
Wal-Mart
We took a field trip to Wal-Mart! We had lots of fun!
Fatz
We also got to go out to eat. We went to Fatz and enjoyed a nice meal!
Happy Valentines!
We colored hearts to take home for Valentines Day.
Gym Time
We have spent time in the gym. We go in there to play with balls and being our practice for Special Olympics!
