FUR TRADE
WHY DID THE FUR TRADE BEGIN/END
WHY DID THE FUR TRADE BEGIN WHY DID IT END
The Fur Trade began because early explorers were telling tales about Indians Tribes. They claimed to have seen fur bearing animals. When fur traders heard the tales, they came to Wisconsin to see things for themselves. They brought steel knives and other items for trading.
The Fur trade ended because the hunting was done and Indians had been moved off the land reservations. American settlers began to farm and the number of white settlers grew. Wild animals had almost disappeared and the Fur trade was over.
