Career CafΓ© job fair at Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk helps students land jobs

Recently our Career CafΓ© Manufacturing Job Fair was highlighted on WNYT's website! On Friday, March 18, the RCS High School launched its Career CafΓ© with a Manufacturing Job Fair for roughly 60 of its juniors and seniors. The job fair provided students with the opportunity to learn directly from the source what skills, attitudes, and experiences are needed for a local manufacturing job. Future Teachers of America at AWB partners with younger peers to work on reading skills

The A.W. Becker Future Teachers of America Club has been very busy! Nothing helps future teachers more than getting to practice their educator skills and work one-on-one with students. Recently, the club members have been pairing up with some kindergarten, first-grade, and second-grade students to help them work on their reading skills. Middle School Physical Education Students of the Month

Each month the Physical Education Department at the RCS Middle School will be recognizing individual students for the hard work they demonstrated in class during the entire month. Students were nominated by Physical Education Teachers Mr. James Henry, Ms. Jasmine Powell, and Ms. Anna Davies.


A big congratulations to the Physical Education Students of the Month for March: Paige Castagna (Grade 6), Shyloh Episale (Grade 6), Lauren Gimondo (Grade 7), Jocelynn Slingerland (Grade 7), Autumn Lischak (Grade 8), and Bradley Lawson (Grade 8)!

Student Contribution -- Ukraine and the untold story of refugees

This piece was written and edited by Senior Mollie McFerran in Ms. Stumbaugh’s University in the High School (UHS) Journalism Class. They have been working on the Feature Story unit for the class. This course provides an introduction to journalism and the mass media. They cover topics such as media history, the impact of media on individuals and society, as well as ethical and legal issues related to media practices in journalism. Students work to develop the skill sets of reporting and news writing by learning the fundamentals of journalistic writing.

District Fundraisers

Running & Upcoming Fundraisers:

  • Class of 2023 -- Bottle and Can Collections: Bring your empty bottles and cans to Just Makes Cents at 2381 Route 9W in Ravena and ask them to apply your total to the Class of 2023 account. The fundraiser runs all year long.
  • Class of 2023 -- Flamingo Flocking Fundraiser: Join us in the fun and send our flock to friends, neighbors, & family members! Unsuspecting loved ones will walk out their front door to their yard full of our flock of pink flamingos! Flocks will rest for 24 hours in each location, where that person will choose to either β€œflock it on” to someone else or simply have them removed. Participate now through the end of May.
