West Irondequoit CSD update from Aaron Johnson
SEPT. 2, 2022
As we continue to prepare for school opening on Wednesday, Sept. 7th, we wanted to share two upcoming changes to our administrative team.
Starting next Tuesday, Sept. 6th, Mr. Dave Dennison will take over as Interim Director of Technology. A veteran of Monroe 1 BOCES, he recently retired as its Assistant Regional Information Center Director. Plans call for him to be in West Irondequoit into November. He replaces Mr. Dan Fullerton, who was hired for a top leadership role at Monroe 1 BOCES. Prior to becoming our district’s Tech Director in 2018, Mr. Fullerton was a Physics Teacher at Irondequoit High School for a decade.
Mrs. Maryanne Maves (formerly Heiman) has also submitted her resignation as Principal at Dake Junior High School. She is moving on to work for the University of Rochester as an Associate Director of Mathematics Education Outreach with the Warner Center of Professional Development and Education Reform. Ms. Maves served at Dake as Principal for the past two years following three as an Assistant Principal. Her last day is scheduled for Sept. 21.
Our Human Resources Dept. is working to secure the services of an Interim Principal that likely would lead Dake through January 2023 to allow for a thorough process to hire the next Principal at Dake. The process to find our next Tech Director is already underway.
Have a great weekend!
Aaron R. Johnson, Ed.D
